š§ my journey
a little over a year ago, i set out on my journey as a potter and since then, I've poured countlessĀ time and energy honingĀ my craft. you'll oftenĀ find me at theĀ studio at least 15-20 hours a week throwing on the wheel, meticulously trimming pots, pulling mug handles, and experimenting in the glaze room. when iām not in my creative flow at the studio, I'mĀ usuallyĀ learning new skills on YouTube, brainstorming new design ideas, and finding inspiration in the incredible work of fellow potters on instagram.
ā±ļø summer 2023 milestonesĀ
this summer marked a pretty significant turning point in my journey. I launched the verygayclay instagram page, deviled into the world of video content creation, officially registered this venture as an LLC, developed this online shop, and even had the honor of sharing my ceramics at the papi juice barbecue vending event.Ā
Balancing a full-time job alongside all the work of careful craftsmanship that goes into my ceramics hasn't been without challenges. It's been a whirlwind of learning new skills, getting a business of the ground (and all the paperwork that comes with that), crafting my products by hand, one at a time, and striving for a semblance of a personal life. But in this balancing act, I've really discovered how much I love what I do. If I didn't, I don't think I'd have the drive to keep pressing on.Ā
